Two Muslim congresswomen are again going to make a mark in the US politics as Ilhan Omar has already won election and Rashida Tlaib is right on the course to victory in for Democrats in the United States.
Somali American congresswoman, Ilhan Omar defeated African American businessman, Republican opponent Lacy Johnson, with wide margin to regain her US House seat in Minnesota. She won by 64.6 percent of the vote to 25.9 percent.
Trump had extended his support for Johnson which helped him generate huge funds for his election campaign. However, in an interview, Johnson had admitted that winning in a heavily Democratic district was a challenge for him.
Though result of Michigan state has still not been announced but after about 70 percent of counting it was revealed by American media that Rashida Tlaib was leading with 66.5 percent votes, while Republican representative had bagged only 29.4 percent votes.
