IHC issues contempt notice to DG FIA over alleged harassment

ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a notice to the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on a petition seeking contempt for court proceedings against him and other officials on alleged harassment of the petitioner despite the order of the court.
An IHC bench, consisting of Chief Justice Athar Minallah, ordered Wajid Zia to furnish the petition with his views.
Meanwhile, the court summoned FIA Assistant Director Ijaz Shaikh to appear in person at the next hearing, probing a case related to the alleged video of former accountability judge Arshad Malik.
He commanded the FIA officials to submit their written comments before the next hearing.
Advocate Jahangir Jadoon protested to the judge that he was targeted by the FIA following a court order that barred the agency from harassing him.
The hearing was adjourned for two weeks.
