IHC declares Nawaz Sharif proclaimed offender in Avenfield, Al Azizia references

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday declared former prime minister Nawaz Sharif a proclaimed offender in Avenfield and Al Azizya Steel Mills references.
The court during the hearing also said that notices would be issued to the guarantors of Nawaz Sharif as well.
Hearing of the case has been adjourned till December 9. Justice Amir Farooq is heading the court bench in the references.
Amir Farooq said that a written order in this regard will soon be issued.
Nawaz Sharif is currently staying in London. He was allowed to get treatment from abroad after his health condition deteriorated in Pakistan.
On Oct 9, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had recommended cancellation of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s travel documents including passport and national identity card.
A letter sent to the Ministry of Interior by the NAB director general had given reference of the arrest warrants issued by the court against Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana case.
