Will close educational institutions, if directed so: Punjab Education Minister
ISLAMABAD: Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass has said that if educational institutions have to be closed, they will also make this decision.
Speaking on Hum News’ morning show “Morning Beyond”, he said that the coronavirus had already disrupted education and harmed children’s education.
During a meeting with hosts Owais Mangalwala and Shafa Yousafzai, Murad Ras said that suggestions have been made about educational institutions at the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).
The provincial education minister said that a meeting regarding educational institutions of Punjab has been convened tomorrow. Corona cases are on the rise at the provincial, district and national levels.
Yesterday, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood had said that a decision regarding schools would be taken in a meeting next week, no compromise would be made on children’s health.
Shafqat Mehmood said that it was proposed to reduce the syllabus and end the summer vacations or extend the academic year but there would be no compromise on the health of the children.
The Education Minister said that efforts were being made to unify the curriculum across the country. The system of local government is ready, will be implemented soon.
Shafqat Mehmood said that a family can get treatment of Rs. 740,000 from any hospital with Health Facility Card, it is an excellent facility.
