I was not given fair trial in treason case says Pervez Musharraf

Expressing serious concerns about the verdict in a high treason case against him, former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf said on Wednesday in a video that he was not given a fair trial in the high treason case.
Terming the verdict skeptical, Musharraf said that he was not given a chance to record his testimony.
In a video message, Musharraf noted that he heard the sentence awarded to him by the special court via television.

He raised questions over the verdict and said legal process was not followed deliberately in the case.
According to former president’s video message, he was given capital punishment owning to personal enmity, adding that only one person was targeted in the case.
He said ,
“I respect the judiciary and hope that the court will provide me justice.”
The former president said that he will announce his future strategy after consultation with his legal lawyers. He thanked the nation and armed forces for supporting him.
Earlier on December 17, the special court had awarded death sentence to former president Pervez Musharraf in high treason case against him.
