I can’t help but think about the people of Kashmir says Hasan Minhaj

Indian-American stand-up comedian Hasan Minhaj spoke out for Kashmir on India’s independence day during his show Patriotic Act.

Hasan Ali, known for his out spoken personality is one of the few international celebrities who has brought attention to the abrasion of the independence and autonomy in Jammu and Kashmir.

“This Independence Day, I’m thinking about the people of Kashmir,” says Hasan in a short video message he tweeted that went viral on Twitter.

In his show Patriotic Act, Minhaj spoke about the communication breakdown in the province and how how there was no autonomy in the disputed territory after India scrapped Article 370 and illegally annexed occupied Kashmir.

“I can’t help but think about the eight million people that live in Kashmir,” he said.
