‘I am alive and kicking’, says Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan

KARACHI: Nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan on Tuesday rejected rumours about his health condition and said he was alive and kicking.
“You must be anxious after hearing rumours about my health. I am also receiving phones inquiring about my health. Some nincompoops are spreading bad news about me. Some say that I am ill and others say I have died.
“These are nothing but rumours. Alhamdulillah, I am completely fine and alive. Insha Allah, Allah (SWT) will keep me alive some more years so that people who hate me are more so roasted,” he said.
The 83-year-old nuclear physicist also showed date on a newspaper to confirm that the video is latest. He said if he was dead or unwell his family would confirm rather than any media.
“May Allah (SWT) bless me and everyone with good health,” he prayed.
Abdul Qadeer Khan had founded uranium enrichment program for Pakistan’s atomic bomb project and the Kahuta Research Laboratories (KRL) in 1976. He has also written numerous columns in different newspapers. The metallurgical engineer made research contributions to molecular morphology, the physics of martensite alloys, condensed matter physics, and materials physics as well.
