Karachi experienced the hottest day of April since 1947 on Saturday (today) as mercury hit 44 °C. The record of 44.4 °C, which was set in April 1947, was about to be broken.

Few days ago, the Pakistan Meteorological Department had issued a heatwave warning for Karachi as hot weather continues to grip the city.

The heat-wave over Karachi is likely to continue on Saturday (today) and subside by Sunday (tomorrow).

Maximum temperature is likely to range between 40-44 °C today and decrease to 37/38 oC tomorrow. Wind direction will generally be from north/northeast today. People are advised to avoid exposure to open sun and use plenty of drinks.

The Met Department predicted that hot/very hot and dry weather is likely to prevail across Sindh in next 24 hours.
