KHOR FAKKAN: Dubai Police have rewarded an honest Pakistani cab driver for returning a suitcase full of money to a Brazilian footballer who had forgotten the bag in his taxi in Khor Fakkan, the United Arab Emirates.
The footballer Bismark Ferreira, who plays for Khor Fakkan Club in the Arabian Gulf League, has expressed pleasure over the kind and honest gesture of handing his bag over to him.
The driver Muhammad Nazem said when he saw the money bag on the back seat, he right away rushed to the police station and handed it to them, Khaleej Times reported.
Nazem, who apparently seems to be a Pakistani as he speaks clearly in Urdu language, said police told him that they would again contact him.
“Two days later, I was surprised to see a Dubai Police delegation at my workplace, honouring me in front of my superiors and fellow drivers. I felt really proud of what I had done,” he said in a video released by Dubai Police.
The Pakistani taxi driver has requested the community members to return any lost items, whether mobile, cash or anything else, to the owner or hand it over to police.
