KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a heatwave in the city starting tomorrow (Monday), with the mercury expected to rise to 42 degrees Celsius.

The Met department said the sea breeze would remain suspended throughout the heatwave, which will last until May 21.

Over these days the weather is likely to remain hot and dry.

The Sindh government, meanwhile, has declared an emergency in all hospitals across the province, holding the heatwave in view.

On 5 May Karachi endured its first four-day heatwave.
