Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar announced that health emergency has been declared in Punjab to cope with Coronavirus.
Addressing a meeting in Multan yesterday, the provincial government had initially allocated 236 million rupees and a pledge was made to control the virus by another one billion rupees.
He mentioned that a fund of five billion rupees will be created to contain the pandemic. The minister said that visitors were banned from visiting Murree and other places of leisure in the province. He made it clear, however, that pharmacies, grocery stores, and vegetable markets would remain available.
Sardar Usman Buzdar added that isolation centers will be set up in Muzaffargarh, Lahore and Rawalpindi. He also said that a field hospital will be built with a capacity of 1,000 beds to treat people affected by the virus.
