ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said the government had decided to provide Sehat Cards to each household in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“A poor man spends all his belongings on his health. The issuance of health cards will improve the health sector as competition among hospitals will augment for people will visit those hospitals which provide best health facilities,” PM Imran said while addressing media in Islamabad.
He said each family would get one million rupees from the health insurance. He said the government wanted to provide health facilities to all Pakistanis. He said six million families and 35 million people would benefit from the scheme.
“This is a big step despite facing big challenges. There can be no bigger service than providing health facility to poor,” he said.
Imran Khan said he would pressurize the Punjab government to launch a similar initiative. He said land would be provided cheaply for setting up educational institutes or hospitals.
He said the Riyasat e Madina started leading the world in 15 years despite having shortage of resources initially. “Whoever will follow the example of Riyasat e Madina will reach the heights of gloriousness.
