Hamza Shehbaz to challenge Punjab Assembly Speaker’s election

Former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz has announced to challenge the election of Punjab Assembly Speaker as a result came in favor of PTI’s Sibtain Khan.
Hamza Shehbaz said that during the election was rigged and raised objections over the serial numbers printed on the ballot papers.
He said that the election of Speaker Punjab Assembly will be challenged in the court today.
Notably, in yesterday’s Punjab Assembly Speaker election, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s Sabtain Khan defeated Pakistan Muslim League-N’s candidate Saiful Malook Khokhar and was elected Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
Panel of Chairman Waseem Baduzai announced the victory of Sibatin Khan saying that “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Sabatin Khan will be the new custodian of the House.”
According to the results, total of 364 votes were cast for the election of the speaker, out of which Sibatin Khan was elected as the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly with 185 votes, while Saiful Malook Khokhar, the candidate of Pakistan Muslim League-N, got 175 votes, 4 votes were rejected.
