Habib Jalib’s 93rd birth anniversary being observed today

The 93rd birth anniversary of revolutionary poet Habib Jalib is being observed on Wednesday (today).
Habib Jalib’s original name was Habib Ahmad and he was born in Hoshiarpur on March 24, 1928. After the partition, he started working as a proofreader in Daily Imroze.
Habib became the voice of public and worked for their rights. He penned down poems on the inequality and pain suffered by people. He introduced new dimensions to the Urdu literature.
The Government of Pakistan awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz to Habib Jalib, after 16 years of his death.
Habib Jalab died on March 12, 1993 at the age of 64 and was buried in Lahore.
