Gwadar fisherman catches rare croaker fish, sold it for Rs8.64 million
A fisherman of Gawadar caught a croaker fish which weighed around 48 kilogrammes. He sold it for 48 Rs8.64 million.
The fish is commonly known as sowa and kiri. It got stuck in the net of a fisherman of Jiwani which got sold for millions in auction.
According to aquatic life experts, the sowa fish comes close to the shores of Jiwani and adjacent seas in the summer for breeding.
The rare croaker fish is said to be of great commercial importance and demand for it is high in some Asian and European countries.
Moreover, the fish is used by pharmaceuticals in production of surgical items and has high demand in China, Japan and EuropeBaloch.
The air bladder of croaker fish is also used in the internal organs of the human body during stitches, especially during heart surgery.
