Guidelines issued for usage of PakVac

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of National Health Services has issued guidelines for the use of Pakistan-made coronavirus vaccine, PakVac, local version of CanSino coronavirus vaccine.
The vaccine will be administered to the people over the age of 18 and it will be stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
According to the guidelines issued by the health ministry, the COVID-19 vaccine should not be frozen under any circumstances and should be protected from sunlight.
People with heart disease, respiratory problems, diabetes and obesity can take PakVac. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, people with fever and coronavirus cannot be vaccinated.
Those who have recovered from Coronavirus can get the PakVac. While, those who have undergone organ transplantation surgery can be vaccinated after three months.
Patients who underwent chemotherapy can be vaccinated after 28 days. People with asthma, epilepsy and mental illness can get the vaccine. Each person will be given single dose of the PakVac vaccine.
On June 16, administration of PakVac had begun in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The KP Health Department had relayed that 270 citizens were administered PakVac vaccine in the first day.
