Greg Barclays has been elected as the new chairman of International Cricket Council.
Barclay has been selected to replace Shashank Manohar, who resigned earlier this year.
Greg Barclay has been the director of New Zealand Cricket since 2012 and currently represents New Zealand on the board of the International Cricket Council. He will have to step down as director of the New Zealand team.
“It is an honor to be elected chairman of the International Cricket Council,” he said. I am grateful to all those who supported me in this position.
The newly elected chairman said that he would work with all the members of the board for the betterment of the game. I am committed to fulfilling my responsibilities. We will work with all 104 members of the ICC to make the future of cricket brighter.
Prior to Barclay, Imran Khawaja served as the interim chairman of the ICC.
