Grand Mufti issues fatwa about administration of COVID-19 vaccine during fasting
The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh has issued the fatwa that it is permissible to administer the coronavirus vaccine while fasting.
The Grand Mufti said that the COVID-19 vaccination would not affect the fast as the vaccine is administered in muscles.
Meanwhile, the Grand Mufti in the Fatwa Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, Dr Mohammed Eyada Alkobaisi said that scholars agree that injections into veins or meat do not break the fast.
Explaining further, he said that the condition for inoculation is that it should not be a medicine that is used to satisfy hunger.
Forty more deaths and 3,449 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Pakistan during the last twenty-four hours. According to latest statistics, 578,314 patients have so far recovered from the disease nationwide.
It should be noted that the global epidemic COVID-19 has infected more than 122,367,000 people in the world and killed 2,703,176.
