ISLAMABAD: Indirectly pointing towards the opposition, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has warned that legal action will be taken against the elements instigating people for violating the anti-COVID-19 standard operating procedures for the sake of their own personal gains.
“The threat of en mass parliamentary resignations hurled by the Pakistan Democratic Movement leaders is bound to fail like their previous attempts for getting an ‘NRO’ for their corruption cases,” he said addressing a news conference in Islamabad.
Shibli Faraz said the opposition parties had nothing to do with the common man’s welfare as they were following the single agenda of getting the NRO for their corruption, while putting the public lives at risk amid the increasing intensity of the deadly second wave of coronavirus.
Talking to a news channel, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood has said the government was ready to hold dialogue with the opposition on every important issue but it would not make any compromise on the matter of accountability of the corrupts.
“The opposition is intentionally pushing people’s lives in danger by holding public gatherings during the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic which is spreading in the country rapidly,” he said.
The minister said due to the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his team all the sectors were showing positive indicators and inflation was on declining.
