Govt to start vaccination registration for citizens aged 50, above in 10 days

While talking to private news channel, Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar, has said that the coronavirus vaccination registration for people aged 50 or above will begin in coming 10 days.

“The third wave of coronavirus is more lethal as compared to previous waves as its mortality rate is higher,” says the minister.

Umar has requested citizens, who are 60 or above, to get registered their names for vaccination because the virus can be severe for them. People can register by sending their CNIC number on 1166.

Earlier, on February 15, the government had announced the registration of the vaccine for the aged citizens (65 or more).

According to minister, the government has placed order for COVID-19 vaccine to a company for 30 million people of the country and the first batch of vaccine would be received during the current month or next.
