Govt to reduce fuel prices today: Miftah Ismail

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Miftah Ismail hinted at reducing the prices of petroleum products today (Thursday) following a significant drop in oil prices in international market.

In a statement, Miftah Ismail said that a summary of reduction in prices of petroleum products has been prepared, time and price will be decided by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif but efforts are being made to apply new prices of petroleum products from today.

He said that the levy of Rs5 and Rs10 on petrol and diesel respectively would be maintained.

The Finance Minister further said that due to the news of falling oil prices in the global market, dealers have reduced their purchases.

He added that the situation in Sri Lanka deteriorated because they did not make difficult decisions at difficult times but now Pakistan is running like a normal country because we made difficult decisions.
