Govt to present next fiscal year’s budget in first week of June
ISLAMABAD: The economic team of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will present the fiscal year budget 2022-23 in the first week of June.
According to sources, the budget will be presented in the National Assembly in the first week of June. The budget session will start on June 1 and will continue for a whole month.
Sources said that a session of the National Assembly will be convened before the budget in which the parliamentary days will be completed.
The next session of the National Assembly will be convened on May 9 after Eid. The eighth session of the current parliamentary year will be adjourned on May 16 after the proceedings of eight days while the last session of the current parliamentary year will be held from July 25 to August 5, Sources added.
Sources further said that according to the parliamentary calendar, so far 7 sessions and 81 parliamentary days of the parliamentary year have been completed whereas constitutionally the session of the National Assembly must be 130 days in a parliamentary year.
