Govt to launch Pakistan’s  version of ‘Netflix’

ISLAMABAD: Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Science and Technology has tweeted that Pakistan is going to launch its own version of Netflix.

Over the Top service (OTT) TV, will be the Pakistani version of Netflix. According to Chaudhry, the technological part is complete, and the government will ask Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) for the preparation of a guideline on content.

We at @MinistryofST are all set to launch Pakistan’s first OTT Tv (Pak version of #Netflix) Technology part is complete have asked PEMRA to prepare a guideline on content and we will be all set to launch in PPP mode, it ll be just another humble contribution..

Chaudhry explained that they will launch the platform in Public-private partnership (PPP) model and it will be a humble contribution from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
