Govt to change petrol price weekly, sources

The PMLN-led coalition government is considering changing the review process of the price of petroleum products (PoL) from bi-monthly to weekly, according to sources in Finance Ministry

The price of petroleum products is currently reviewed after every 15 days and this decision was taken by PTI’s government. Before that, the rates were reviewed every 30 days.

Sources said that after the approval of the federal cabinet, the period of price adjustment of petroleum products (PoL) will be determined.

The government seeks to shift the advantage/burden of the change in international oil prices to the masses.

Notably, The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday confirmed that Pakistan has achieved all the set targets for the revival of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme.
