Govt slashes petrol price by Rs15 per litre

For the month of May, the government cut the prices of petroleum products, with oil dropping by Rs15 per litre.

The new petrol price will be Rs81.58 per litre, according to a Finance Division notification.

Rs27.15 lowered the price of high speed diesel to Rs80.10 per litre.

Similarly, Rs15 and Rs30 cut the price of light diesel and kerosene oil, respectively.

Now a liter of kerosene oil will cost Rs47.44 and that of Rs47.51 light diesel.

The new prices have taken effect today (May 1).
