 Govt removes PTV anchor over his visit to Israel

Federal Minister for Information Maryam Aurangzeb has said that Pakistan Television (PTV) anchor Ahmed Qureshi, who visited Israel, has been fired.

In her statement, Maryam Aurangzeb said that Pakistan is firmly committed to its traditional position on the Palestinian issue and Israel. The Foreign Ministry has made it clear that no delegation from Pakistan has visited Israel.

She said that those who take any negative step for ‘cheap political fame’ should take care of national interest.

The Information Minister said that the PTV anchor involved in the visit to Israel has been sacked and taken off air.

Yesterday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had said in his address to the Workers Convention in Charsadda, a picture had come that a Pakistani delegation had visited Israel for the first time. PTI Chairman alleged that, they [Coalition Government] are going to recognize Israel.
