KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said the provincial government had provided the best security on the occasion of Ashura across the province.
Talking to media after reviewing security arrangements of mourning processions in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the chief minister had thanked Ulema for their cooperation to maintain the law and order situation in the province.
Praising role of Rangers, police and other law enforcement agencies for their contribution, he had said they were making all out efforts round the clock to serve people of the province.
CM Murad said police and Rangers personnel were rendering their lives to protect people and their sacrifices would not be forgotten.
The world remembers 10th Muharram for the “Battle of Karbala” and mourns for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) grand son Hazrat Hussain (RA) death. Yazid had martyred Imam Hussain and seventy-two of his companions including his six month old son Ali Asghar, and that their women and children were taken as prisoners to Syria. Apart from this, there are many Prophetic events of great historical importance which happened on 10th of Muharram.
After usurping all basic rights and freedoms of the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India also banned Muharram processions in the territory.
Since abrogation of special status of occupied Kashmir on August 5, the Indian authorities have also not allowed Jumma prayers at Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid.
