Prime Minister Imran Khan says that the government prioritizes sectors that offer work opportunities for youth, agriculture, and improving the country’s public health system.
He stressed the need to ensure tight and seamless cooperation between federal and provincial governments during the completion and implementation of development projects at the National Economic Council meeting in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the need to employ technology to monitor ongoing project progress.
He stressed the need to ensure public involvement in the planning process by presenting information in real-time and obtaining input on project implementation status.
The Prime Minister directed that the National Economic Council’s biannual meeting be ensured to review the progress of projects under the Public Sector Development Programme.
During the current fiscal year, the meeting discussed the state of the economy and the forecast for coming one.
The meeting accepted a growth target for GDP along with sectoral growth estimates for the fiscal year 2020-21 for agriculture , industry and services.
It also approved the Macroeconomic Framework for the proposed 2020-21 Annual Plan.
