Govt, opposition should come together for reforms: Fawad Chaudhry
While talking to SAMAA TV show on Wednesday morning, Federal Minister for Science & Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that the government needs support from opposition for making reforms in the country.
“In Pakistan we cannot engage (with opposition) in fight 24/7 (…) therefore we need to reinstate ourselves and Pakistan needs reformations and in these matters the opposition’s support and cooperation are needed,” says Chaudhry.
He further states that the government and the opposition should come together for electoral reforms and for improving governance.
On recent political developments, the minister says that PML-N Vice President, Maryam Nawaz, is an immature politician who doesn’t want her father (former prime minister Nawaz Sharif) to return to Pakistan and face charges against him.
“Her (Maryam Nawaz) mother and grandmother passed away in London and her staying there would not have made a difference. A leader stays with the people and then starts making excuses when they don’t want to face cases,” he continues.
