ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Zafar Mirza on Friday announced that the Pakistani government had launched Yaran e Watan Program seeking help of overseas Pakistani health professionals against COVID-19.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Dr Zafar Miza said the program was being initiated in cooperation with overseas Pakistanis. He admitted that the overseas Pakistanis were extensively assisting the government.
“We have created an information technology platform named yaranewatan.gov.pk. If you are an overseas Pakistani health professional and you want to help Pakistan against the coronavirus outbreak, then register yourself on this website,” he said.

The SAPM said you could provide any kind of training, protective equipments or any other thing in this regard. A very simple registration form was available to provide basic profile details, he maintained.
“You can make any kind of contribution and the health ministry will make the process easy and targeted,” he said.
He said local hospitals and organizations could also register themselves for this initiative and seeking help from overseas Pakistanis.
“International Migration Organisation and World Health Organisation has cooperated with us in establishing this platform and we thank them.
“In the end, I would like to introduce Dr Usman who has come from Norway and he and his team has worked hard for designing and conceptualising this idea,” Dr Zafar Mirza said.
