Govt increases petrol price by Rs6.27 for next 15 days of August
The Government of Pakistan on Monday night increased the price of petrol by Rs6.72 per litre for the next 15 days of August.
The notification issued by the Ministry of Finance reads, in the view of the changes in oil prices and exchange rates in the international market, the government has decided to pass on the effects of changes in the prices of petroleum products to the people.
The statement said that the change in the prices of petroleum products will be implemented from August 16.
After the increase in the price of petrol per litre by Rs6.27, the new price will be Rs233.91.
The government has reduced the price of high speed diesel by Rs0.51 and the new price will be Rs244.44 per litre.
Similarly, the price of kerosene oil reduced by Rs1.67 and the new price has been fixed at Rs199.40 per litre.
The federal government has also increased the price of light diesel oil by Rs0.43 after which new price will be Rs191.75.
Earlier, on July 31, the government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs3.5 per litre and an increase in the price of diesel by Rs8.95.
On the other hand, Taking to twitter PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz slammed government’s decision saying that, “Mian Sahab [Nawaz Sharif] strongly opposed the government’s decision to increase the price of petroleum products.”
