ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain on Wednesday said tourism could become a game changer for the economy of Pakistan.
“Pakistan has a great untapped tourism potential,” Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said while speaking at the General Conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Islamabad.
The minister said the government was facilitating foreign tourists through a new visa regime. He urged people to visit Pakistan as the country was safe and had many beautiful tourism spots.
“The ECO is a powerful forum and it should mutually collaborate to promote tourism in the region,” he said.
He also apprised that Pakistan’s economy was growing at the rate of four percent. While, he said, the positivity rate of COVID-19 in Pakistan was less than four percent, and with the effective strategy, the country had contained spread of the pandemic.
