Govt decides to use technology to settle down electoral issues
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz on Thursday said the government had decided to remove ambiguities in electoral process by using technology to settle down matters related to election among political parties.
“The Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) has no internet connection and it has its own operating system with no software,” he said talking to a local news channel.
The science and technology minister said the machine cannot be hacked and the receipt generated through the machine can be balloted in the box.
He said the EVM would be helpful to save time for collecting and announcing results, and its audit would be possible through a bar code, while data of every polling station can be accessed easily.
