Govt decides to privatize state television

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to privatize the state-run channel Pakistan Television (PTV).

According to sources, a roadmap has been prepared for the privatization of PTV, and work on the privatization proposal has been started already.

The Cabinet Privatization Committee will review the proposals and the Privatization Board will prepare preliminary proposals. Details of PTV lands, equipment, and machinery will be collected.

Details of PTV’s assets will be collected by June 2021. According to sources, PTV is not yet included in the list of the privatization commission.
