ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to formulate a National Nutrition Action Plan and have formed an advisory group for this purpose. .
The action plan of the Nutrition Advisory Group will be sent to the Prime Minister. According to details, the federal government has initiated practical steps to control malnutrition in the country.
Ministry of Health explains that national and international nutrition experts will be part of the 18-member advisory group.
According to sources, experts from WHO and UNICEF are part of the Nutrition Advisory Group, while Nutrition International, DFID Nutrition, HSA and civil society representatives are part of the Nutrition Advisory Group.
The Advisory Group will review the situation of malnutrition, stunting, malnutrition,and review Pakistan Nutrition Policy, PC-1 while preparing a roadmap for implementation of National Nutrition Action Plan, after which the Prime Minister will recommend the Nutrition Advisory Group.
