Govt begins investigation into blasphemous slogans, banners used in Aurat March

ISLAMABAD: The government has started investigation into alleged blasphemous slogans and banners used in the Aurat March on Mar 8.
In a statement from Egypt, Federal Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noorulhaq Qadri said that the probe was underway into the allegations.
Expressing concern about several of the social media posts, he said that Pakistan was the country of “Aashiqan e Rasool (SAWW)” and nobody would be allowed to commit blasphemy in this land.
“The elements that spread chaos in the society will be dealt strictly. Cases will be filed by exposing the elements involved in such acts,” he said.
The federal minister said that the government was trying to gauge veracity of the material posted on social media. He said those who doctored the Aurat March banners will also be punished.
