Govt approves project for promotion of science, technology

ISLAMABAD: The government has approved a project for promotion of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education in 400 higher secondary schools across the country.

The approval was given at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Friday.

The meeting was informed that the project will be executed with cooperation of universities and it will help to provide latest education to 100,000 children.

The meeting was also informed about the progress made so far towards the establishment of Engineering and Emerging Technology University at the Prime Minister House.

Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary presented a roadmap for building the capacity of the country in production and exports of medical equipment.

The Prime Minister commended the efforts of Ministry of Science and Technology for domestic production of protective kits, ventilators and other equipment during Covid-19.

He directed the ministry to finalize all its projects so that implementation on them could be started.
