Govt announces to help overseas Pakistanis who lost jobs

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari on Thursday said the government had launched a special portal to help overseas Pakistanis who had lost their jobs abroad and were facing difficulties.
“We have not opened up flight operation completely but the government is trying its best to bring back maximum number of vulnerable Pakistanis stuck abroad,” he said talking to PTV News.
He said during the journey, all passengers would have to follow the SOPs issued by Ministries of Health and Civil Aviation.
The special assistant said the government was also preparing a comprehensive policy to open tourism in the country.
On Apr 24, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Zafar Mirza had announced that the Pakistani government had launched Yaran e Watan Program seeking help of overseas Pakistani health professionals against COVID-19.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Dr Zafar Miza had said the program was being initiated in cooperation with overseas Pakistanis. He admitted that the overseas Pakistanis were extensively assisting the government.
