Government submits petition seeking reconsideration of Supreme Court’s verdict

ISLAMABAD: The government has filed a petition seeking review of the decision of a larger bench in a no-confidence motion.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar has filed a petition seeking review of the April 7, 2022 decision of the five-member larger bench of the Supreme Court.
Asad Umar has filed the petition through Babar Awan and Muhammad Azhar Siddique advocates seeking withdrawal of the April 7 order of a five-member larger bench of the Supreme Court.
The petition said that the Supreme Court could not give a timetable to the National Assembly under Article 69.
Earlier, Supreme Court had annulled the ruling of the Deputy Speaker on April 3 regarding the no-confidence motion and had ordered to restore the National Assembly and vote on the no-confidence motion.
