Google pays tribute to ‘Chocolate Hero’ Waheed Murad

KARACHI: The 81st birth anniversary of legendary film star Waheed Murad is being observed on Wednesday (today).      

He was born on October 2, 1938 in Sialkot. Waheed Murad, also known as Chocolate Hero and the king of romance, was a film actor, producer and script writer. Murad completed his Masters in English Literature from Karachi University in the 60s.

His father was a film distributor who encouraged him to pursue his career in the cinema industry. Waheed Murad started his film career from film ‘Aulaad’ and performed as a hero in scores of films.

Many of his films hit the box-office after celebrating silver and golden jubilees.

His film ‘Armaan’ was the first one in the country, which won the status of platinum jubilee. He died on November 23, 1983 in Karachi.

Google also paid tribute to the legendary Pakistani actor on his 81st birth anniversary with a doodle on Wednesday.
