Earth is celebrating its 50th anniversary today, April 22, with Tech giant Google dedicating a soothing doodle of honeybees, pollinating seeds.
Google dedicates its doodle on the occasion to one of the world’s smallest creatures – the honeybees.
The doodle is fitted with a play button. As the user clicks it, it displays a small video to make us aware of the value of honeybees as they play a vital role through pollination for the world’s crops.
Doodler Gerben Steenks, with engineering from Doodlers Jacob Howcroft and Stephanie Gu, led the art of today’s Google doodle.
First celebrated in 1970, the day now includes events coordinated internationally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries.
