Goat, sheep, pawpaw samples test positive for COVID-19
Tanzanian President John Magufuli, a PhD doctor in chemistry, grew suspicious of testing kits after the number of coronavirus cases climbed multifold in one day.
So, he decided to test the kits. He sent various non-human samples including of goat, sheep and pawpaw to laboratory with names of human. The laboratory staff tested the samples believing they were of human beings.
The president revealed that goat, sheep and pawpaw samples tested positive for COVID-19 which meant that the testing kits donated by foreign countries were faulty and there were fair chances that a lot of people tested positive for the viral infection would not have contracted the disease.
“There is something happening. I said before we should not accept that every aid is meant to be good for this nation. The kits should be investigated,” Al-Jazeera has quoted the president as saying.
Magufuli said he had ordered for herbs from Madagascar for treatment of the viral disease.
The herbal remedy, called “Covid Organics” and prepared by the Malagasy Institute for Applied Research, is made out of Artemisia, a plant cultivated on the Indian Ocean island of Madagascar.
The president of Madagascar has claimed that the herbal medicine had cured COVID-19 people and the children going back to school were mandatory to take the medicine.
