Gen Bajwa to meet Senior Biden official on his weeklong visit to US

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will meet the senior Biden Administration to further strengthen Pak-US ties and enhance bilateral coordination on regional security, in his week-long official visit to US.
Earlier the head of Pakistan Armed forces in his meeting with Birame Diop, Military advisor to Secretary-General United Nations discussed mutual interest and security situation of the region. Military advisor Diop also discussed the recent catastrophic floods in a meeting with the army chief, according to ISPR press release.
General Bajwa applauded UN military advisor General Diop’s positive role in promoting UN core values, the ISPR said. Discussing the recent catastrophic floods General Diop said that the UN has assured Pakistan of flood rehabilitation.
The UN secretary general António Guterres on his recent official visit to flood-affected areas said that “I have seen many disasters around the world but I have never seen climate carnage of this scale,”
UN military advisor appreciated Pakistan’s armed force’s role in UN peacekeeping missions all around the world. Recently an Army personnel and UN Peacekeeper Havaladar Babar Siddique got martyred in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Army chief is expected to begin his official meetings in the US today. General Bajwa will meet senior intelligence and Defence officials.
General Bajwa arrived on Friday in New York. This is his first visit to US in last 2 years. He was in the US back in 2019 when he accompanied the then Prime Minister Imran khan.
