LARKANA: In by-election of PS-11 Larkana-II, the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) candidate Moazzam Ali Khan Abbasi won by securing 31,500 votes.
According to unofficial result from all 138 polling stations, Moazzam Ali Khan Abbasi got 31,500 votes whereas the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Jameel Ahmed Soomro secured 26,021 votes, Radio Pakistan reported.
GDA’s candidate Moazzam Ali Khan Abbasi won the seat with the support of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The seat fell vacant after the Supreme Court de-seated GDA’s Moazzam Abbasi for failing to declare his assets in his nomination papers.
Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has blamed the government of rigging the poll. Earlier in a statement, he had claimed that if the poll was not rigged, the PPP would win the Larkana by-poll.

In a series of tweets, he blamed that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), on behalf of the PTI, orchestrated the rigging by arresting and sending notices to PPP workers and their families. He also accused the establishment of using force against PPP in the constituency. He said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), despite making requests, did not take notice of the irregularities.
“Our candidate wasn’t even allowed inside polling stations. We kept asking the ECP to intervene but its mala fide intent was apparent in its silence.
“Despite all this political engineering the PPP has reduced the GDA/ JUI-F/ PTI+👽 lead by 5,000 votes in less than a year,” he tweeted.
PPP Chief Bilawal said his party would challenge this rigging at every forum. “The truth cannot be hidden. We will expose this selection. We will have a re-election and take back this seat,” he vowed.
