Fresh clashes have broken out between Chinese and Indian armies in the disputed Ladakh region paving the way for escalation between the two giants of Asia.
Local Indian media reported that the clashes took place at Pangong near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the night of on Aug 29. Indian army claimed that they strongly retaliated the Chinese move.
“On the night of 29/30 August 2020, PLA troops violated the previous consensus arrived at during military and diplomatic engagements during the ongoing standoff in Eastern Ladakh and carried out provocative military movements to change the status quo,” Indian Army was quoted as saying by the Indian media.
The media claimed that China redeployed fighter jets near the LAC in Ladakh. “They are still carrying out extensive flying there,” the Times of India reported.
