Iran has called the French president’s support for the blasphemous sketches a “stupid move.”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called Emmanuel Macron’s actions “stupid and an insult to those who voted for the French president,” according to foreign news agency AFP.

In his address to the French people, he said, “Ask your president why he supports insulting the Messenger of God in the name of freedom of expression. Does freedom of expression mean insulting the sacred person?

Referring to French President Emmanuel Macron, the Iranian spiritual leader said in an address to “French youth” on his official website: “Isn’t it foolish for those who voted for the French president?

On the other hand, the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies of Kuwait has said that 60 of its 69 stores have boycotted the sale of French products.

The head of the union said that there was no room for reconsideration of the decision unless the insulting attitude against the Prophet Muhammad was stopped.
