Former police chief Shahid Hayat passes away

According to a spokesman for the Sindh police, former chief of the Karachi police Shahid Hayat took his last breath on Tuesday after fighting a prolonged battle with cancer.

Hayat was under treatment at a private hospital in Karachi. He served as the city’s police chief during the Karachi Operation launched in 2013 with an aim to cleanse the all the criminals from the city.

The whole police department expressed their sorrow over Hayat’s death. Sindh Inspector General Kaleem Imam, IG Imam showed their condolence to the family and paid tribute to his services for the police department.

Sohail Jokhio, the spokesman said that funeral prayers for Hayat will be offered at the Garden Police Headquarters at 01:45 pm on Wednesday.
