Foreign Minister calls opposition for talks on  Jammu-Kashmir action plan

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi invited opposition parties to discuss the resolution of persistent dispute of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, as the Senate witnessed the two parties blaming each other over the matter.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi has urged the opposition to join hands on this issue, as it needs to be resolved with national consensus. He further abashed the law makers of opposition parties. the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) for the government for mishandling the Kashmir’s issue.

A session was organized in the upper house on account of the Self-determination day of Kashmir.

On 5 January, 1949, the United Nation Security Council (UNSC) passed a resolution to support rights of Kashmiris that they can decide their future at liberty.
