A foreign airline Boeing 789 reportedly escaped an accident near Cherat hill station in KhyberPakhtunkhwa due to weather condition, on Thursday, today.
Boeing 789 was travelling from Bahrain to Islamabad.
The ground proximity warning system (GPWS) got activated when the aircraft altitude was on 5,000 feet, alerting its pilot of imminent danger of crashing into the hills.
However, the warning helped the pilot as he changed the aircraft’s direction and flew it on the altitude of 7000 feet.
The Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) air traffic controller has forwarded a report in this regard to its headquarters.
