ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Dr Zafar Mirza has said a comprehensive food security plan will be formulated to avoid food shortages in the coming weeks and months.
In his tweets in the backdrop of the decisions taken by the National Security Committee meeting to deal with coronavirus, he said the ministry of food security and research will lead this effort.

Dr Zafar Mirza said the steps taken by the National Security Committee were necessary to protect Pakistan from the coronavirus. He said we all have a role to play to fight this plague.
On Saturday, the Pakistani aviation authorities ordered airports to limit international flights operating in the country to the cities of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, local media reported.
International flights in Peshawar, Gwadar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Multan will no longer be operational, authorities said. It would also halt international flights to Sukkur and Bahawalpur, the authorities added.
All international flight operations in Karachi and Islamabad will operate from 12 noon till 7 in the evening, according to the instructions given. This time it will be from 1:30pm to 8 at night at Lahore airport.
The international flights to Karachi will be diverted to Quetta, authorities said.
